The Allcrochetpatterns.net GrannyCAL is a fun monthly event where a large group of crocheters work on the same project during a limited time. Having the same project on your hook allows you to share your work in progress, ask questions and find inspiration in what others are making. The designer of the project actively participates and will be available for advice and chitchat. Join the community, get your hooks out and let's crochet the project together!

For those who are new to GrannyCAL, here's how it works!

Is this a one-time only GrannyCAL?
The GrannyCAL is a monthly event! You can either become a member with the monthly subscription or participate in a single Crochet Along only at a slightly higher cost. Each Crochet-Along will feature four new exclusive granny square patterns by a different established crochet designer.

I'm rather new to crochet, can I do this?
We think everyone should be able to participate in the GrannyCAL, which is why we choose patterns that are mid-level. The designer and your fellow crocheters are there to help you in the forum, so you'll have plenty of people who want to guide you through the process of creating the squares. They're all bitesize projects, so you won't be stuck for weeks either.

How do I download the pattern?
After joining the GrannyCAL, you will receive a confirmation email in the mailbox linked to your PayPal email address. This email will contain a direct download link as well as a link to the forum, where you can download the pattern PDF as well.

Will the pattern be available in other languages?
The pattern will only be available in US crochet terms.

Does the price include materials?
No, we do not supply materials for this GrannyCAL.

Will it be a mystery CAL?
No, the full patterns will be available from the start, including pictures of the finished items and (if available) step-by-step pictures to guide you along the way.

How long will this GrannyCAL be available?
This GrannyCAL starts on the second Wednesday of the month (January 9) and will end on the second Monday of the month after (February 9). This means you have a full month to work on your squares, so don't worry about joining a little later. The forum will remain available for 2 weeks after the closing date of the GrannyCAL. If you've downloaded the pattern and saved it to your computer, you can of course continue crocheting at your own pace.

Can I share my progress on social media?
Sure you can! You can share your progress in the forum and on your own social media. There might even be a prize involved. ;) When posting on social media, you can use the hashtag #Grannycal, so we can find your post more easily.

Do I need to be active in the forum?
No, you're free to participate if you like, or simply browse posts of others, or ignore the forum altogether.

How can I win one of the amazing prizes?
During each GrannyCAL, we organize various small contests, where either the Allcrochetpatterns.net team or the designer draws a winner (randomly or by choice). For each GrannyCAL, there will be an amazing prize for the designer’s favorite. You’ll discover how to win one of the other prizes in the 'Win!' thread on the forum.

My English is not great, is that a problem?
Not at all! We welcome Crochet Alongers from all countries and languages. And a picture says more than thousand words, so everyone is welcome.

Grab your hook, gather your yarn and join our brand new GrannyCAL! This time, we'll be somewhere over the rainbow, crocheting four colorful patterns from the talented Crafty CC. These four patterns have the most wonderful colors and geometric shapes that will make your squares shine bright like diamonds! We're looking forward to see the most magical colors jump off your hook.

Materials used: 3 mm / size C-2 crochet hook, Yarn needle

Yarn for Over The Rainbow Square - Sport weight yarn in the following colors (or colors of your choice): Silver, Plum, Turquoise, Perido, Papaya, Cardinal, Cream

Yarn for Diamond Square - Sport weight yarn in the following colors (or colors of your choice): Pastel Pink, Girly Pink, Papaya, Sunflower, Pistachio, Opaline Glass, Plum, Cream
